Our oldest son, Asger, have started in a robot club at his school and they use Lego Mindstorms so we want to buy a set for him to experiment with at home.
Lego Mindstorms comes in 2 base editions :
It seems that the software used to program the robots, EV3, is NOT the same for Home & Education editions - so that is a bummer.
Ok, Saturday we bought the Mindstorms Education Core set, 45544, at toys2thai and then we came home Asger immediately proceeded to create a car he could control using cables. Sunday he proceeded to create first a car that could navigate itself using a sensor to avoid obstacles (just like a robotic vacum cleaner) and then second connected his mobile phone to the robot so we could drive it around like an RC toy.
High on our oldest sons achievements, Sunday we drove to a robotic school called RoboMind and enrolled our youngest son, Esben, in their most expensive program and he loves it. We are now waiting to see if our sons will start building robots together.
